
When I was younger it was a right of passage to learn how to bake cheesecake in my family. My mom would show us how to perfectly craft the graham cracker crust inside a springform pan. When it came time to make the cream cheese filling we would get the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and use cream cheese and put it into a large mixing bowl.
We would use an electric mixer with a whisk attachment to make sure we created a smooth texture. Once we had the cream cheese mixture finished we would put it into the perfectly crafted pie crust. These hardworking ingredients produced an easy dessert for my mom to teach.
We would then put the cheesecake into the oven, ensuring it was a low heat but not too hot, a perfect 350 degrees is typically best.
When baking the cheesecake my mom taught us how to cook the cake using a water bath. Once the cheesecake was cooked we would pull it out and let it cool to room temperature. Once it was room temperature, my mom always covered it in plastic wrap and let it set in the refrigerator.
The greatest part is we could all choose what we wanted! Cheesecake will always be one of my favorite recipes, but there are so many delicious cream cheese dessert recipes out there that it is hard to compete!
