Corn Flake Wreathes

My Mom used to make these for our after school snacks when it was getting close to Christmas. Now that I have a little family of my own we have these the day they get out of school to celebrate the break and Christmas! If you can make Rice Krispie treats, then you can make these! They are SO easy!

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 5 heaping cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 5 1/2 cups corn flakes cereal (crush them a little bit)
  • Handful of red candies. (I used Mini M&M's)

  1. Measure corn flakes into a large bowl.
  2. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted. Stir in food coloring.
  3. Pour melted marshmallows into the large bowl with the corn flakes. Stir until well coated.
  4. Lay out a piece of parchment paper on your kitchen counter. Dollop spoonfuls of the cornflake mixture onto the parchment paper. Grease your (clean) hands with butter or cooking spray. Use your fingers to shape each spoonful into an individual wreath. Top each wreath with red candies.

I also got a little red frosting and painted on some bows on the top of some of the wreathes.
