
Slow cooker meals are great for weeknight meals if you ask me! I am always running around getting things, doing things, bringing someone somewhere. It’s nice to be able to throw stuff in the crockpot and let it do its things. Plus you throw it in early in the day so you can choose to do it when you aren’t busy.
This is an easy family dinner recipe that even your picky eater will love but still probably not tell you. 😉 Anyone else have one of those kids? Well, they will like it too, making this the perfect family dinner recipe.
You can even turn this into a slow cooker chicken thighs recipe if you happen to have some leftover or in the freezer. However, I will say this recipe works the best with thawed chicken since you can get a little bit of extra water from frozen chicken.

How to make this bbq chicken slow cooker recipe:
To begin, get out your slow cooker and place it on the counter. If you have a slow cooker liner put it in now. If not, that’s okay too, they just help make clean up that much easier.
Next, place your chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker. The recipe calls for chicken breasts, but you can use chicken thighs too!
NOTE: If you use frozen chicken the sauce might be a little more liquidy from the excess water in the chicken, but will still taste great. But, if you’d like a thicker sauce use raw unfrozen chicken.
Now, in a small mixing bowl, combine together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix it it all together until it forms one well-blended sauce.
Then, pour the BBQ sauce mixture over top of the chicken in the slow cooker. Place the lid on and turn it on high for 3-4 hours or cook it on low for 4-6 hours or until the chicken is cooked all the way through.

Slow Cooker Sweet BBQ Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (frozen or thawed)
- 1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of slow cooker.
- In a mixing bowl, combine barbecue sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour sauce over chicken. Cover and cook on high 3-4 hours or low for 4-6 hours.
