- Garlic powder
- Kosher salt
- Ground black pepper
- Ground paprika
- Yellow onion, diced (red onions can work too in a pinch)
- Crushed pineapple
- Pineapple juice
- BBQ sauce
- Brown sugar
- Cloves garlic, minced
- Jalapeños, seeded and finely diced
- Hawaiian hamburger buns (or any kind of bun)
Equipment Needed
For this recipe, you only need a few simple kitchen tools. We recommend using the following equipment:
- Slow Cooker
- Non-stick Cooking Spray
- Mixing Bowl (Small)
- Mixing Bowl
- 2 Forks
- Serving Platter (Rectangular)
- Bear Claws

How to Make Our Pineapple Pulled Pork Sandwiches
- Spray the crock pot with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place pork roast in the slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, mix together all seasonings.
- Rub seasoning on all sides of the pork roast until all sides all covered.
- In a mixing bowl, combine onion, pineapple, pineapple juice, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and jalapeños.
- Pour sauce on top of pork roast. Cook on LOW heat for 8-9 hours.
- Cook on low heat for 8-10 hours (or high heat for 5-6, but I feel like the pork is more tender if you cook it on low).
- Shred the meat with 2 forks and serve on buns. If desired, you can top it with pineapple slices, slices of red onion, sliced jalapeños, or anything else you want.
Recipe Notes
While you do not need a fat separator for this recipe, if you would like to make gravy to go with the pulled pork sandwiches, it works great for holding the cups of the skimmed broth produced from the large pieces of fat in the roast.
Another great way to store it is in the freezer to pull out the frozen pork later for an easy 5-star rating dinner.
