You can also add the meat in as frozen turkey breast or thawed, depending on if you have planned it out the night before. The best way to produce a tender turkey breast is to cook it for the perfect amount of time.
The size turkey breast will determine if you can feed a smaller crowd, or a larger one. Make sure to decide how much turkey breast you will need ahead of time.

How much turkey does each person need?
The first thing to think about is how much turkey do you ACTUALLY need to make.
If you are wondering how many people your turkey will feed – a good rule of thumb is that whatever your turkey weighs, that is approximately how many people it will feed.
If you know you have a lot of small children, then you may be able to stretch it a little farther than that.
If you want to have leftovers, plan on 1 ½ pounds of turkey per person. This article from the HuffPost is also is a great resource and gives you an idea of how much to cook per person.

How to make the best slow cooker turkey breast with onion soup mix:
Start by spraying the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray (or with the crockpot liner) and place the turkey and diced onions inside the slow cooker on the bottom.
Then, in a small mixing bowl, pour in the water and the onion soup mix.
Mix them together until they are fully combined and then spread the onion soup mixture evenly over the outside of the bone-in turkey breast.
Next in another small mixing bowl mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, seasoned salt, dried oregano, and dried basil.
Then, simply sprinkle the seasoning mix over top of the turkey inside the crockpot.
Cover the crockpot with the cover and turn it on low for 8-9 hours.
You will know it’s done when the turkey is very tender and the seasonings have flavored the meat.
Use a meat thermometer to double-check. Insert the meat thermometer into the thickest part of the turkey breast and make sure that it reads at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit to know that the turkey is fully cooked.
When the turkey has finished cooking, remove it from the slow cooker and slice it to your desired thickness.
If you’d like, you could let the breast rest for 5 minutes before slicing as well.
