We have only made this recipe using cream cheese. Not sure if Neufchatel would make that much of a difference.
Some of our readers have added in a packet of ranch dressing mix with the chicken broth to make this is a “Chicken Bacon Ranch” dish and it’s delicious!

The chicken broth goes in the slow cooker with the chicken?
Sorry! I added it to the instructions. It now all makes sense!
I am adding this recipe to this weeks meal plan, can’t wait to eat it Thursday!
This looks like something that could become a family favorite quick! Yum!
Yes, thanks for bringing that to our attention. We adjusted the recipe.
I also added a package of dry ranch mix. It made a type of Bacon Ranch Chicken. Could possibly get away with two packages. So Yummy!
The cream cheese helps to thicken it up at the end of cooking time. Feel free to add more bacon if desired.
This was amazing!! My husband said it ranks as one of his top five favorite dishes! Thanks for the great recipe!
My family love this! I used 1 lb of bacon and 1 cup chicken broth. And it turned out perfect. From all the comments I ajusted the recipe myself. I make this once every two weeks.
The flavor was good but mine was still extremely runny, like water. The cream cheese didn’t seem to thicken it at all. I used Neufchâtel- does that make a difference? Otherwise, do you have any suggestions for thickening the sauce? I like this by the way I’ve but would prefer a thicker sauce if I can keep the same flavor. Maybe reduce the amount of chicken broth?
Hi Andrea. We have only made this recipe using cream cheese. Not sure if Neufchatel would make that much of a difference. You could decrease the amount of liquid and see if that helps thicken it up. You could always add in a little cornstarch and that would not effect the taste.
