Recommended Equipment

How To Make Grilled Chicken Sandwiches:
- Mix together the oil, honey, lime juice, chili powder, and cumin in a ziploc bag. Place chicken inside, zip bag closed, and make sure that chicken is fully coated by marinade. Place bag of chicken in the fridge and let marinade for at least 30 minutes (I actually let mine go for about 2 hours- but you could even let it go for 8-10 hours for really flavorful meat!).
- Remove chicken from fridge and preheat grill to medium high heat. Grill the chicken for a couple of minutes on each side, turning once, until the chicken is no longer pink and reaches an internal temperature of 165℉.
- If you want, you can toast your buns on the grill.
- Top with your favorite toppings: tomato slice, leaf of lettuce, cheese, mayonnaise

Expert Tips:
- If the boneless breast of chicken you have are too thick or large, use a meat mallet to get the chicken to your ideal thickness.
- If you don’t have a grill you can use a grill pan.
- Grill the top and bottom buns for that nice little crunch and to avoid having soggy buns.

You could most definitely bake this chicken in your oven, or even sear it on the stove top, instead of grilling it.
If you bake your chicken instead of grilling it, preheat the oven to 350℉, and bake for 30 minutes on one side, then flip the chicken breasts and cook for 10-15 more minutes until done, or juices run clear when you cut into them.
Most of the time we like to use this recipe with regular hamburger buns, however you could use them with a brioche bun, soft ciabatta bun, or a pretzel bun.
Storage & Reheating Instruction:
Fridge: Put the leftover chicken pieces in an airtight container and place it in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Sounds great, thanks for another great recipe!!
Looks like a pretty flavorful, simple grilled chicken sandwich. You a definitely right about letting the chicken marinate longer, it gives it so much more flavor. If I can, I usually try to marinate my meats over night.

We had this last night and it was a hit with all my kids and husband. I am having leftovers today and they are wonderful. We have had a Sixsisters month trying out all your yummy recipes. And guess what? They all passed with shining colors! Thank you!
Thanks Ann! You totally made our day!
i had a craving for a grilled chicken sandwich, so i searched out some recipes, and this is the one i settled upon. it sounds simple and delicious. the chicken is marinating now, and i’m sure it will taste as great as it sounds. thanks for the recipe.
Did you slice the chicken before marinating
We left the chicken as a whole chicken breast so that it is a chicken breast sandwich.
Can you bake the chicken instead of grilling? If yes, how long? At what temperature?
can you bake the chicken at what temp
Chicken should be baked at 350 degrees.
Chicken turned out very bland! |:( But maybe it was because I only marinaded it for an hour I feel like it could use some salt/soy sauce
What is the nutrition/calorie count of the marinated chicken breast sandwich?
This was very easy, especially since I only have to prep. The hubs does the grilling. I let my chicken marinate all day, about 6-8 hours to really get that flavor in the chicken. I pierce my chicken with a fork in a few places before adding the marinade to it, so the marinade gets all throughout the chicken, and with this recipe, trust me, you will want this flavor all through the chicken! It’s so yummy! I served this with some easy potato wedges for a simple yet delicious dinner! Double bonus, if you’re a WW like I am, this clocks out at 5 (Blue plan), 9 (Green plan), 5 (Purple plan). Those calculations do not include any optional items. Thank you Six Sisters for another AWESOME recipe!
We made this tonight and the entire family loved it… even my picky 9 yr old said he loved his “chicken burger” thanks for your amazing recipes!!
I love this recipe so much thanks for share
What sauce did you use on the sandwich in the pictures? It looks so yummy, we are going to try these this week!
We love this sauce. https://www.sixsistersstuff.com/recipe/best-hamburger-recipe-and-amazing/
This was terrible.. Just threw it away and ordered pizza. We always love your recipes. Guess it’s a matter of taste. That being said it was bland and had a funky taste.
Sounded amazing. Not giving up on ya’s
Quick and easy recipe. Tastes so good. Just don’t forget to add salt and pepper! I also added some minced garlic and oregano!
Delicious and Tender! Don’t be intimidated by the list of ingredients. Goes together quickly. Will make this again.
The cumin and chili powder with lime was excellent for the chicken flavor and the chicken was moist and tender. Thank you!
Can I airfry the chicken instead. And for how long
You can definitely air fry the chicken. The time would depend on the size of chicken breast you are using. I would try 375 degrees for: Small Breasts (5 to 7 ounces): 7 to 10 minutes
Medium Breasts (8 to 10 ounces): 10 to 12 minutes or Large Breasts (11 ounces or more): 12 to 16 minutes (turning half way through). I hope this helps!
I loved this recipe. I cut the chicken pieces in half and made sliders. The chicken was very flavorful and juicy.
I marinated the chicken overnight and the chicken came out super moist, tender, and flavorful. I already passed on the recipe as it was that enjoyable. Have extra chicken and plan on using on a salad tomorrow night. Such a simple recipe with fantastic results.
The flavor profile was really good…just weak. I sliced the chicken pretty thin, doubled the spices, added 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp smoked paprika. Cooked chicken in the air fryer, and topped with some pepper jack, grilled onions and smashed avocado. So good!
