- Brown sugar
- Granulated white sugar
- honey
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- vanilla extract

How to make Copycat Cracker Barrel Cinnamon Apples (in the Slow Cooker):
- Prep the apples. Peel and core the apples and cut them into ½ inch cubes.
- Assemble. Transfer the apples to the basin of a slow cooker along with the brown sugar, granulated sugar, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, butter, and salt. Give everything a mix.
- Cook. Cover the crock pot and cook on high for 2 ½ hours. Be sure to stir every 45 minutes or so.
- Serve. Ladle the apple mixture into a small bowl for each and serve warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and/or whipped cream.

To best way to cut the apples after you have the apple peels off, is to cut them into cubes as best you can. This way, the delicious side dish can hold the integrity of the apples, while still tasting delicious.
If you choose to cut the apple into apple slices, you will end up with more of an apple pie filling at the end of baking the sliced apples. While generally, that is fine, for this classic southern side dish, we are looking for the apples to be a little thicker.

After you are done cooking this sweet side dish, you can store the leftover apples in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
