Interesting! I rarely cook beef roast as I can never get it right. I may have to try this recipe though. It does sound pretty tasty!

Do u have to use molasses? it can be very pricey and what is liquid smoke?
We have only made this according to the recipe. You can buy the store brand of molasses. It should last you a while. Only calls for 1/2 cup. Liquid smoke just adds so much flavor to any meat. It comes in a few flavors. It is located around the sauces/seasonings. It really makes this recipe so yummy!
i bough molasses and I’m making it without liquid smoke. ill let u know how it tastes
I just cooked this today didn’t use liquid smoke. It turned out to be a hit. Everyone loved it and is having it as a sandwich for lunch tomorrow.
Made this a couple weeks ago(also made crock pot smashed potatoes) & everything was AWESOME!!! The roast had an excellent flavor & I will be adding both of these recipes to my rotation!!! With the crock pot potatoes, I did everything in my crock…….started with 5lbs red potatoes cut small, added minced garlic, chicken broth (about 1 1/2 cups), & 1/4cup butter & cooked on high for about 4hrs 20mins, then “smashed” them in the crock with my mixer & added 1 block cream chz, sour cream(I didn’t measure), dry Ranch packet, salt & pepper & kept them on WARM for about 2hrs & they were AWESOME!!!! Than you so much for such great recipes, I will always make my potatoes in the crock pot from now on 🙂
My Husband has always cooked with coke or dr. pepper it breaks down the meat and gives it a wonderful flavor try it with pork and chicken it is really great in everything. thanks for sharing

Made this for a party yesterday- fantastic recipe. I didn’t use the liquid smoke and did add an onion. It was pretty much falling apart and the plan was to shred it and make it into barbeque so that worked great. First time I’ve made this with molasses and orange juice- definitely makes a good sauce.
