No-Bake Peanut Butter Cornflake Bars Recipe

Peanut butter and chocolate are a classic combination. In these No-Bake Peanut Butter Corn Flake Bars, you get the peanut buttery-chocolately taste you love without having to heat up the house.

I love no-bake recipes, especially when the weather starts warming up!  The last thing I want to do on a nice day is spend all day in the kitchen.  These bars only take a few minutes to make and are a delicious treat!

How to make No-bake peanut butter cornflake bars:

No oven — just your stove top and a few minutes of your time and you will have a delicious treat to share with your family.

Start by heating the sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts to boil, stirring constantly. Once it starts to boil, remove it from heat.

Add the peanut butter and stir until it has melted. (You can keep it off the heat. The peanut butter should melt easily in the hot mixture.)

Next, stir in 3 cups of crushed corn flakes. Press mixture into a greased 8″x 11″ pan.

For the chocolate topping, melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in 30-second increments until melted. Stir chocolate until smooth and spread on top of the peanut butter mixture.

Let cool until firm.

Not a fan of Crunchy Peanut Butter:

Not everyone is a fan of crunchy peanut butter.  If this is you, simply swap it for a creamy peanut butter.

We like the crunchy peanut butter because of the added texture, but feel free to use whatever peanut butter you have handy.

How to avoid a sticky mess:

Like Rice Krispy Treats, getting these into a greased pan without making a sticky mess can be tricky.

I’ve found that greasing my hands with butter is a great way to press them into the pan without them sticking to me.

add more toppings to these bars:

Make these no-bake bars a little more exciting by adding additional toppings.  After spreading the chocolate on top, and before it hardens, sprinkle some of these on top:

  • chopped peanuts
  • mini M&Ms
  • peanut butter chips
  • chopped pretzels

  1. What a fun site with you six amazing sisters and their amazing mother! This looks l like it would also be yummy using corn chex cereal instead of cornflakes. Anyone tried that yet? I'm going to try it today to take to a ward bbq here in Ca.
  2. I melted the sugar and corn syrup together then removed from heat, stirred in the peanut butter till throughly combined. I made sure to really crush the corn flakes then added them to mixture but had a problem...once the mixture firmed up it became as hard as cement and was extremely difficult to bite thru, what did i do wrong? Could i have crushed the corn flakes to finely?
