Instant Pot Lobster Mac and Cheese

This cheesy, gooey, creamy, and absolutely tasty Instant Pot lobster mac and cheese is the best mac and cheese you can have! And with the lobster, it makes it divine!

Can I confess a little secret? I LOVE mac and cheese. All types of mac and cheese. With this Instant Pot family dinner recipe, I feel a little bit more like an adult since it has some lobster in it.

  1. Macaroni noodles
  2. Chicken broth
  3. Onion powder
  4. Hot sauce
  5. Butter
  6. Garlic
  7. Lobster (cooked)
  8. Milk
  9. Mozzarella
  10. Cheddar cheese
  11. Pepper jack cheese

How to make Instant Pot mac and cheese:

This recipe is pretty easy and fast to whip up. Start by placing the uncooked macaroni noodles into the bottom of the Instant Pot, and then pour in the chicken broth, making sure that noodles are covered by the broth. 

Then add in the onion powder and hot sauce into the Instant Pot. And then you need to put the lid on top of the instant pot and make sure it sealed. Then, turn the knob to the “sealing” position and then press the “manual” button and set the timer to 5 minutes. 

While the noodles are cooking in the Instant Pot, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once the butter has completely melted, add in the minced garlic and lobster and saute it all together for 2-3 minutes. 

Once the cooking time runs out, you have to turn the knob to the “venting” position to do a quick release. You don’t want to let the Instant Pot do a natural release, because then your noodles will cook too long and be mushy. 

Then, once the Instant Pot has depressurized, open the lid and pour in the milk and add in the cheeses and stir it together until the cheese has completely melted and creamy. 

Lastly, add in the seasoned lobster and add in salt and pepper to your liking. Then it ready to serve. 

Sometimes, I even add peas to my mac and cheese to make it healthy and hide the vegetables from my kids, and from myself. 😉 You could even add in some broccoli in there too if you’re not a fan of peas.

  • 12 ounces uncooked macaroni
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon hot sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 pound cooked lobster
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepper jack cheese


  1. Place the uncooked macaroni, chicken broth, onion powder and hot sauce into the Instant Pot.
  2. Set valve to sealing and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. After cooking time runs out, do a quick release.
  3. While cooking, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and lobster and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the milk and cheese to the instant pot and stir until cheese is melted and creamy. Stir in lobster and season with salt and pepper as needed.
