Baked Sweet Potato Wedges

These baked sweet potato wedges are a family favorite. While delicious, sweet potatoes contain more Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and have a lower glycemic index than regular potatoes. By baking them, they have fewer calories than the fried version, too.

Recipe Ingredient Notes

To make our baked sweet potato wedges, you need the following ingredients:

• Sweet potatoes
• Olive oil
• Chili powder
• Garlic powder
• Cinnamon
• Salt
• Pepper

For this recipe, you only need a few simple kitchen tools. We recommend using the following equipment:

• Ziploc Bag (Gallon)
• Aluminum Foil
• Sheet Pan (Quarter)
• Chef Knife
• Cutting Board

How to Make Our Baked Sweet Potato Wedges

1. Preheat oven to 425℉.
2. Peel and cut sweet potatoes into wedges and place in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag.
3. Drizzle olive oil over sweet potatoes in bag and shake until evenly coated.
4. In a small bowl, combine chili powder, garlic powder, cinnamon, salt and pepper.
5. Sprinkle seasonings over sweet potatoes, seal bag and shake again until evenly coated.
6. Spread seasoned potato wedges on a baking sheet lined with foil and sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until potato wedges are soft.
8. Heat oven to high broil, and broil potato wedges for 1-2 minutes or until crispy.

Recipe Notes

• You could leave the skins on the sweet potatoes, but the seasoning coats the potato wedges better if they are peeled.
• You could leave the cinnamon out of this recipe, but the mixture of seasonings is delicious!
• You will want to be sure to spread the potato wedges in a single layer – check that they aren’t stacked on top of each other or they will stick together and won’t crisp up as well as they cook.
