Recipe Notes
If you want to make this recipe healthier, you can try the following modifications:
- Use wheat or spinach tortillas instead of flour tortillas.
- Instead of cream cheese, use plain Greek yogurt. Your filling will be more runny, so you can add more chicken. Other alternatives to cream cheese, include low-fat cream cheese, or using half cream cheese and half plain Greek ygourt.
- Add more vegetables – celery, small carrot shreds, zucchinis, red peppers, spinach, or arugula.
A lot of Mexican dishes use taco seasoning. I go through a lot of the little taco packets you get from the grocery store. So, I decided making some taco seasoning in bulk was a great idea! Check out Gimme Some Oven’s Homemade Taco Seasoning recipe to make your own taco seasoning!

Could you make the filling ahead of time and add to the tortilla before serving?
Yes, but don’t add the avocados until ready to add to the tortilla.
Do you think these could be made ahead and frozen?
Flour tortillas don’t freeze and then thaw very well. They tend to get soggy.
