I know that most people associate sweet potatoes and Thanksgiving with the mashed sweet potatoes and marshmallows on top (so yummy). But, this roasted sweet potato side dish is a great way to make a more savory version so that you can switch things up a bit or maybe even offer both as an option!


Recipe Ingredient Notes
To make our roasted Parmesan sweet potatoes, you need the following ingredients:
- Sweet potatoes, skinned and diced
- Olive oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Pepper
Equipment Needed
For this recipe, you only need a few simple kitchen tools. We recommend using the following equipment:
- Sheet Pan (Large)
- Aluminum Foil
- Non-stick Cooking Spray
- Chef Knife
- Cutting Board
- Mixing Bowl (Small)
- Peeler
How to Make Our Roasted Parmesan Sweet Potatoes
- Preheat oven to 425℉.
- Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Dump diced potatoes on the foil-lined pan.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the potatoes and using your hands, gently toss the potatoes until oil has covered all the potatoes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Sprinkle over the potatoes and once again use your hands to incorporate spices over the potatoes.
- Place pan in the oven and cook for 15-18 minutes (or until they reach desired softness), stirring half way through minutes so that they are evenly cooked and don’t get burned on the bottom.
- When finished baking, remove from oven and sprinkle with additional salt and pepper, if desired.
Recipe Notes
You can make this be a base recipe and change it up simply by using different seasonings. Some other toppings include the following: cinnamon, cumin, cloves, brown sugar, allspice, chili powder, or chipotle seasoning.

- ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
