One batch of these Walnut Chocolate Chip cookies and they will become your new favorite cookie.
You will love these rich and buttery cookies loaded with chocolate chips and walnuts. Pour yourself a glass of milk and enjoy.
My husband is not a huge cookie fan, but he can’t get enough of these. They have a slight nutty flavor that tastes just absolutely amazing.
He loves dipping these in his milk when they come out of the oven. I prefer my milk and cookies to be a little on the crunchy side, so I choose to eat my warm cookies with ice cream.
I wish I could stay they are still around by the time they get crunchy, but these cookies go fast.
Do walnut chocolate chip cookies freeze well?
I have a strange obsession with frozen cookies. I usually don’t have any leftover to freeze, because I love eating cookies as soon as they come out of the oven (I even take the risk of getting a burnt tongue from the melted chocolate), but frozen cookies are so yummy.
These cookies freeze extremely well. You can eat them slightly frozen, or freeze them or up to a month.
To thaw them, you can microwave them, but I usually take mine out of the freezer, 24 hours before serving them, and they are perfect and chewy.
Could I make walnut chocolate chip cookies without the walnuts?
This recipe is extremely delicious with the hint of nutty flavor, however, you can easily remove the nuts, and just make chocolate chips cookies.
You could even do half and half, and press walnuts into the cookies that you want walnuts in. We also like adding coconut to these every now and then, just to make them a little more chewy and textured.

Love cookies full of chocolate and nuts! The brown sugar in this recipes is sure to make them soft and chewy! Yum!
Love nuts in my chocolate chip cookies! These look perfect!
I make cookies every year for the holidays. I’ll try your recipe this time around… and maybe sooner than that!! Yum
Can I use semisweet chips?
These are delicious with semi sweet chocolate chips too.
I have a question:
I would like to know if I could use self rising flour with these cookies
We have only made these cookies using all purpose flour.
Is the brown sugar needed, light or dark? Does it make a difference?
You can use light or dark brown sugar.
Just made these cookies (half the recipe). They are soft, moist and are not overly sweet. I ate 5 already (and I am supposed to be on a diet)!
Ha Ha!!! You sound like us! So glad you liked the cookies! Have a great week!
How many cookies does this make?
This makes about 3 dozen cookies.
Any idea how it would work out if I substitute Stevia for the brown and white sugar?
We have only made these cookies with the ingredients listed. Not sure how they would turn out with Stevia.
Just made this recipe these are great tasting and have that crunchy outside with a soft chewy center thank you for a great recipe
I just made these cookies and they are delicious! I used semi-sweet chocolate chips and added a teaspoon of cinnamon to the dough. I also rolled them into 1″ balls as I like smaller cookies. And I can eat an extra one and not feel guilty 🙂 Thanks for a great recipe!
I think the term “roll” here is a bit optimistic… It’s more like “glop”!
Hello, can I make the dough n bake it at a later time?
I made this recipe they were dry. Was I suppose to add water ?
We didn’t have a problem with the cookie dough being too dry. Sorry about that. Whenever you have dry cookie dough and need to moisten it up a bit, add 1/2 teaspoon of a liquid that is already in your dough. Such as water, milk, egg, or melted butter. Be very careful not to over stir the ingredients you add in to moisten it. You can also give it a spritz of water. Hope this helps.
Thank you very much
I was nervous abt trying thous bc some Pinterest recipes are deceiving. But THESE COOKIES TURNED OUT FABULOUS. EVERYONE LOVED THEM!! Thanks y’all!!!
How many days do they stay chewy? I have an issue where they are chewy the first day then get hard. Anything I can add to make it stay chewy longer? The internet said maybe and extra yolk. Thoughts?
You can totally freeze these cookies and thaw as needed. You can also put them in an airtight container and then set out at room temp for an hour or so until ready to eat. They should stay pretty chewy.
