Ham and Swiss Poppyseed Sandwich Sliders Recipe
The poppy seed spread on these sandwiches is so incredibly flavorful! This recipe is perfect for feeding a crowd or for a tasty finger food at your next party!
Ingredients
- 24 King's Hawaiian Rolls
- ½ cup butter
- ½ onion (minced)
- 1½ Tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1½ Tablespoons poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 8 slices swiss cheese (cut into fourths)
- 24 slices deli ham
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Slice rolls in half, keeping tops and bottoms together.
- Melt butter and whisk in onion, mustard, poppy seeds and Worcestershire sauce.
- Brush the mixture evenly on both the top and bottom half of the rolls.
- On the bottom half of each roll, top the mustard mixture a small slice of swiss cheese and a slice of ham. You will need to fold the ham over so it's not hanging over the edge of the roll.
- Cover with foil and bake about 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven, separate rolls and serve.

I have also been making these for years for my kids' birthday parties. People ask me for the recipe all the time, but I made one slight change that I think you should try. I add in some minced garlic to the melted butter, and it really makes it pop ~ I've never measured, but I would guess around a tablespoon.

These are the best. I have seen people make these with the Hawaiian rolls before, too. I agree, that poppyseed spread is amazing.

These freeze well too!

This is an old time recipe! Like another reader, I use these for my kids' parties! Once you wrap them in foil, pop them in the freezer and then when you want to use them, put them in the oven as directed. Yummy! Thanks for sharing!

I use onion rolls for mine. So therefore I omit the onions.. then I cit the rolls in quarters.. much easier

Here in amish country in ohio. We make sandwiches very similar to these. The only difference is we make the ham and swiss sandwiches and next we drizzle the poppy seed mixture over the top and bake for 20 minutes. Just don't put to much mixture on the top. Just had them today actually! Very Good!

Can you caramelize onion first? I'm not big on raw onions.

These sound amazing! I am just wondering if there is a way to substitute the butter for something else since our family does not like butter? Any idea's?
