How to Make Chocolate Cream Pie
- Prepare pie crust as directed on package. Let cool for at least 15 minutes (or cool completely).
- In a large bowl, combine pudding mixes, heavy whipping cream, and milk. Beat for 2 minutes using a wire whisk.
- Pour pudding mix into cooled pie crust.
- Place in the fridge for at least 1 hour or until pudding is set.
- Spread Cool Whip on top before serving and garnish with chocolate shavings.
- Store leftovers in fridge.

Storage Instructions
Fridge: Allow the pie to come down to room temperature (covering the pie when it’s still warm will cause condensation and a soggy crust). Cover the pie with plastic wrap and then aluminum foil on top and store it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Frequently Asked Questions
You will most definitely want to refrigerate this chocolate pie recipe. Since it is largely dairy based it will need to be kept at 41℉ or less so that it does not go bad.
The best way to keep this pie from being runny is making sure to keep it refrigerated. Also we definitely suggest eating this pie the same day for the texture to be the best.
You can also wait to add the cool whip topping and chocolate shaving until right before you are ready to serve the pie.
Since it is probably unlikely that you keep chocolate shavings in your kitchen you will probably try to make your own, I definitely do! A vegetable peeler works great to make chocolate shavings.

This set up before I could even wish it 2 min. My whisk broke and there wasn’t really any pouring into the pie crust. It was just flop it in and smooth out. Not sure I even got all the pudding lumps out but it tastes good. Probably won’t make it again.
My pudding was very runny and never set. Total fail.
So sorry that happened. I’m not sure what could have gone wrong
It did set very quickly before even hitting the fridge but it was super easy I used a graham cracker crust. I’d use it in a pinch I used snickers pudding n pie mix it took three box’s but I weighed it out exactly n came out just fine
