Applesauce Pork Tenderloin Recipe

I love a nice and juicy pork tenderloin recipe. This Applesauce Pork Tenderloin is exactly that. It is full of flavor and only requires a few simple ingredients, making it the perfect dinner, any night of the week.

Growing up, I was never a huge fan of tenderloins. I always thought they were dry and lacked flavor. Then I went to college, and my roommate made us a pork tenderloin one Sunday, and I was blown away by how flavorful and tender it was.

Ever since then, I have been taking her tips on how to make a tender and juicy tenderloin, and now it is one of my favorite foods.

My husband also is a big fan of this one.

This recipe is so easy to make, but tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen. This pork loin is so moist and flavorful that all your dinner guests will want seconds.

could i make this recipe using pork chops?

We have only made this recipe using pork tenderloin, however, you could easily make this recipe using pork chops.

You will definitely need to adjust the cooking time, and they probably won’t be as tender or juicy, just because of the cut of meat.

We highly recommend using a pork tenderloin, but if you are looking to change up your regular pork chops, this would also work.

does the rosemary need to be fresh?

For this recipe, we used fresh rosemary. It just has a stronger flavor and to it, and it will really cook nicely into your pork tenderloin.

We highly recommend using fresh rosemary, but dried would also work, it will just be a more subtle taste.

would cinnamon applesauce work?

This recipe calls for 1 cup of applesauce. I have only made this using plain applesauce, but it would work nicely with cinnamon apple sauce.

The flavor will pair nicely with the meat, as well as the honey. Either applesauce would work great. We don’t really recommend fruity applesauces such as strawberry or peach apple sauce, just because that flavor with mess with it a little more, but cinnamon should work great.

    • I think you could totally make this in the slow cooker. Cook it on low. Check after about 3 hours and see how much longer it would need to cook. The length of cooking time is the only thing we aren't sure of. Best of luck and let us know how it all turns out!
    • You could throw some baby carrots in or cook any veggie as a side dish. If you click on recipe index on our blog main page, and then click on "veggies" a whole bunch of great side dish vegetables will come up. Hope this helps and let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!
  1. This looks so fun! I make a homemade chunky applesauce which I canned from this summer. Do you think that would be ok, or should I puree the chunks out? I have a Ninja slow cooker, which also has an oven option. I'm going to try and make this with the oven option. Wondering about using a chunky applesauce thought. Thanks!
  2. I love this recipe! I'm not a pork fan but my mom made this and I loved it! As a matter of fact I have this in my oven now. But I do want to comment on Becca, I looked at your website link and this recipe and that one are not the same. Similar, but not the same. Please be kind and don't negatively comment on a blog that someone puts hard work, time, and pride in. This is a wonderful recipe and I'd like to thank this blog for sharing with all of us.
