Key Ingredients:
The two simple ingredients for this recipe are the cream cheese and Heath bits. You will want to use cream cheese that has softened at room temperature when making this apple dip recipe. Using softened cream cheese allows the rest of the ingredients to combine to make the perfect dip, not a chunky dip (minus the crunchy toffee bits). You could Neufchâtel cheese in place of the cream cheese for an even healthier option for the creamy dip.
Using Heath Bits in a bag bought from the grocery store is a great way to make an easy toffee apple dip without having to chop up any toffee candy bar to add to the delicious dip.
See the full list of remaining ingredients below!

Recipe Variations:
When mixing the cream cheese in a large bowl, add in a little cinnamon or nutmeg. Or any of your other favorite warm autumn spices, to the dip for even more fall flavors.
Swirl in some caramel sauce throughout the cream cheese mixture or drizzle the caramel over top for more flavor and added flair to the apple toffee dip.
Add in some mini chocolate chips to the smooth cream cheese dip for more texture. Or you can replace them with the Heath English toffee bits.
Swap the light brown sugar for dark brown sugar for a more savory cream cheese fruit dip.

How to keep the apples from turning brown:
If you are serving this creamy toffee apple dip recipe for an extended period of time. Be sure to treat the apples before adding them to the fruit plate.
Brown apples happen as the apple slices go through oxidation. To slow this process down, place the apples in a large ziplock bag with water and some lemon juice before serving.
Adding lemon to the apples will help slow down the browning process.

My friends and I make a variation on this dip: cream cheese mixed with a little powdered sugar, spread thinly on a platter, and then drizzled with caramel sauce and sprinkled with heath bits. Served with your favorite kind of apple. So good and so addicting!
Holy moly, this sounds delicious. I am compiling some pinterest recipes/dips for Monday Night football when the hubby has the boys over ;]
It’s apple season here in GA, this sounds like a yummy way to serve our fresh from the tree apples. Thanks for sharing!

Can you make this ahead of time?
Yes! And it lasts awhile in the fridge too!
Hey girlfriends! This is my favorite stuff! I could eat it with a spoon. 🙂 Thanks for linking up on ‘Or so she says…’, hope to see you again tomorrow for another round of ‘Your Great Idea’! http://www.oneshetwoshe.com
How many ounces of cream cheese for the recipe above? 8 or 16? Thanks!
Hi Kim!
You will need 2 8-ounce packages, so 16 ounces of cream cheese total. Hope you like it!
Not sure if I missed it somewhere but how many does this recipe serve?
What are heath bits?
They are usually by the chocolate chips and it’s pre packaged Heath candy bars all crushed up. They are delicious. But you could totally make your own by crushing Heath Bars or Skor bars. Hope this helps.
I couldn’t find the bag of Heath Bits. Would crushed up Heath bars work just as good?
Yes, you can easily make your own by crushing up Heath candy bars.
This was fantastic!! We aren’t with sliced apples. So easy too. It’s a keeper!!
Perhaps this was mentioned further into the information, but I did not see it. I simply need to know if the vanilla is vanilla extract or imitation vanilla. I would appreciate a response—I am looking forward to making this dip, but I do need to know which type of vanilla is used. I shall thank you in advance.
Hi Lore – you can use imitation or really vanilla extract, or even vanilla emulsion in this recipe.
Does this recipe freeze well?
This dip can be frozen, but its texture will likely change, becoming softer, grainier, or slightly separated after thawing. To freeze, store the dip in an airtight container and thaw it overnight in the refrigerator. After thawing, stir the dip vigorously to help bring back its creamy texture.
