This sounds so good. I have everything (I think), even Frank’s Red Hot sauce which is weird because I’ve never used. I just bought some at the store last month. Must have been inspiration! Yum!
That looks so good! This might sound like kind of a weird question, but where do you get your buns/rolls? They always look so good!
wonderful sandwich – love how easy the buffalo sauce is! I know what I’m making for my kids sandwiches this week!
Mary x
I will be making these for dinner!!!!
We ususally grab them at our local grocery store. Wal Mart has some delicious rolls over in their bakery.
These look wonderful! The perfect way to use the rest of a baked or rotissire chicken that doesn’t get eaten on the first meal!
Do you serve the chicken hot or cold? The cheese looks melted so I was just wondering.
Would I be able to do these in the crock pot with frozen chicken beasts?
Thanks!
This is a cold buffalo chicken salad sandwich. But you could cook your chicken any way you would like. We just bought ours pre-cooked at the store to save time.
Would it still work if I didn’t put in the cream cheese? My guys won’t eat anything savory with cream cheese (but I make a cheesecake and it gets crazy!).
This looks so good!
I just made these…and they are SO good! I also used the store bought rotisserie chicken….but used blue cheese dressing, Hawaiian rolls….and everything else the same. Perfect…and I bet they will be even better tomorrow! Thanks for all your great recipes!
I made these tonight and they were delicious! For us they were a little too spicy (kids-11,9 and 8) next time I will reduce the wing sauce by half and then taste and add as needed. I’m definitely making this frequently this summer.
I would say leave the cream cheese in and just don’t tell them. It doesn’t taste like cream cheese once mixed in; simply adds to the creaminess. If you just can’t do it, maybe you could whip some whipping cream and season that with salt and pepper (which is what I do in a different chicken salad recipe).
Can’t wait to try this tonight!
Made these last weekend and they were wonderful!!! I’m curious though, did you mean 2 celery sticks? I guess two stalks just seems like so much to me. I was worried these were going to be too spicy for my kids since another reviewer said they were a bit spicy to her. To my surprise I actually think I’m going to add more buffalo sauce next time, I couldn’t taste it as much as I would’ve liked. All in all, these are going into my recipe book, my husband couldn’t stop saying how much he loved them. Thanks for the tip to use a rotisserie chicken, made it so much more convenient! Every recipe I’ve tried from you gals has been a keeper!
The 2 stalks of celery is like 2 long sticks. Hope this helps.
Made these the other evening with leftover grilled chicken breast. This recipe is awesome. Great soup and sandwich dinner option!!
Made this yesterday and it was fantastic. Will be making again and again. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! That does help, I bought a bag of celery (http://www.dudafresh.com/mobile/BiggestLoser/) that said it was equivalent to 2 stalks so I was thinking that meant the whole bag. Silly me, I will for sure just be using 2 sticks next time!
I’m going to try these with bleu cheese dressing instead of ranch and cream cheese, looks great.
Didn’t you have a slow cooker version of the buffalo chicken sandwich? My kids love the recipe I found, but I can’t find it now. I believe it was on your site.
Way to much ranch dressing. Followed the recipe exactly and i wish I would have mix the dry ingredients first then added the hot sauce and ranch to taste. Ate one sandwich but threw out the other one, Yuk!
I halved the ranch, substituted chives for onions because I needed to use them up, and toasted almonds for celery because I am not a huge fan of celery. It turned out really well! I think I would have preferred bleu cheese dressing, though.
