Broccoli and Cheese Chicken Pasta Recipe

This Broccoli and Cheese Chicken Pasta is so simple and easy to make. It's full of flavor, and comes together in minutes. The best part is, my kids ate them all, including all their vegetables.

This recipe is a more sophisticated version of macaroni and cheese that your whole family is bound to love. It is full of creamy flavor and chicken and broccoli.
The sauce is absolutely amazing, and it makes eating vegetables easy. If you are in need of a quick, simple, and delicious dinner recipe, I highly recommend our Broccoli and Cheese Chicken Pasta.
You could also add any other vegetables to this recipe, you know your family loves. We also like to add some bell peppers, tomatoes, or zucchini to this one.

what could i pair this recipe with?

I love pasta. If I could live anywhere in the world, it would probably be Italy, so I could eat homemade pasta day in and day out, for the rest of my life.

Not only that, but they have some amazing bread and sweets there as well.

Here are a few of my favorite side dishes to pair with this Broccoli and Cheese Chicken Pasta:

We also love to serve our bread and pasta with salad. Here are a few of our favorite salad recipes:

You could really pair it with any vegetable, but a nice fresh crisp salad with some Italian dressing has got to be my favorite combination with this pasta.

I also like to dip my bread in both the pasta sauce and the salad dressing. You can’t go wrong with salad, pasta, and bread.

  • 1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti noodles
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded, cooked chicken breast (I used a rotisserie chicken from the deli)
  • 1 head of broccoli florets, steamed

  1. Prepare noodles according to package directions, drain and set aside.  In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.  Whisk in flour, salt and pepper, until combined.  Whisk in chicken broth and milk until smooth.  Stir in cheese until melted.  Transfer cooked noodles to a large pot over low heat.  Add chicken, broccoli and cheese sauce.  Serve immediately.
  2. *If you reheat your pasta and the sauce is too thick, add a little milk to loosen the sauce.

    • Not sure what happened. We were worried about it being to thick and that's why we added the note about adding more milk if necessary. Did it thicken up when you melted your butter then added the flour, salt and pepper with the chicken broth and milk? That should thicken up for you with the flour added to it. Sorry it didn't work out. -The Six Sisters
