This is a family classic with a little twist of barbecue sauce, to it. It takes just minutes to throw together, and dinner is ready to go.
how to make bbq tater tot casserole
Step 1: Brown ground beef, salt & pepper, onion, red pepper, & green pepper together until the hamburger is cooked through.
Step 2: Drain grease well. Add in the drained corn and Manwich sauce and mix until combined. Heat through.
Step 3: Pour into a lightly greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Step 4: Sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese over the top of the hamburger mixture.
Step 5: Place tater tots over all and then cover with the remaining 1 cup of cheese.
Step 6: Bake for 25 minutes in oven heated to 400 degrees.

I don’t know if it’s the tater tots or the Manwich sauce that really gets them. It’s probably a combination of both.

This BBQ Tater Tot Casserole can be difficult to pair with sides, because there is so much in it. However, we have found some delicious side dishes that go perfect with this casserole.
-Green Salad. Green Salads are my go to side dish. One of my favorite green salads is our, Italian Fresh Green Salad.
-Fruit Salad. No matter the season, you can always find reasonably priced fruits. In the winter, one of my favorite salads is our Winter Fruit Salad.
-Jello Salad. Okay hear me out, if your kids are eating dinner, it’s okay if they eat a little jello salad as well. If you have never tried a jello salad, I highly recommend our most popular, 5 Minute Jello Salad.
Although it has Jello in it, it also has other nutritious ingredients. As long as I am getting my kids to eat dinner, I feel fine about a little Jello in a side dish every now and then.
-Vegetables. Is there a such thing as too much veggies? Maybe, but in this case, I think vegetables would be a great side dish. We highly recommend a steamed vegetable like our, Honey Roasted Carrots.
