Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing men out there!
Living in a house with all girls, we ate a lot of chicken . . . our poor dad didn’t really get his fair share of “meaty man meals”. However, his birthday and Father’s Day were all about dad and his favorite things. My mom had this awesome marinade that she would use whenever we would grill steak . . . I made it for my husband a couple of years after we were married and he couldn’t believe that I had not shared this recipe with him sooner!
If you let the steak marinate for long enough (my mom used to do it for 24 hours), it will seriously melt in your mouth. The flavor is amazing . . . this recipe will make any meat-loving man (or woman!) happy.
Mom’s Sizzlin’ Steak Marinade Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon ground pepper 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar 3/4 cup soy sauce 2 Tablespoons dry ground mustard 1/3 cup lemon juice
Directions: Mix all ingredients together in a Ziploc bag. Add 2 pounds of steak (we usually use sirloin steak because it is the least expensive, but it works great for any cut of steak). Store in fridge for 8-24 hours. Grill over medium-high heat to your liking (I am a medium rare kind of gal, but my dad likes his done well . . . very well . . . to the point that it’s almost black. Ha ha! Sure love you, Dad!).
