I absolutely love grilled food -homemade grilled hamburgers are one of my favorite foods.
During the winter time in Utah, it can be difficult to get outside and grill; and there are nights when I just don’t have time to fire up the grill.
That’s where these Grilled Cheeseburger Wraps come into play!
All the flavor of a ground beef cheeseburger wrapped up in a tortilla. This is genius! So even without a grill, you can still enjoy a cheeseburger.
How to make Cheeseburger Wraps
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet.
- Add in ketchup, mustard, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper.
- Take a tortilla and spread shredded cheese down the middle.
- Add in a scoop of cooked hamburger and whatever toppings you’d like.
- Roll up the tortilla, tucking the ends in like a burrito
To grill or not to grill?
In the picture, you can see that I grilled my Cheeseburger Wrap.
On an outdoor grill, these might get kind of messy if they come apart while grilling. However, here are some other ideas to make these a “grilled” Cheeseburger Wrap!
I used a George Foreman indoor grill and just left the wrap in there long enough to make the tortilla crispy on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside (about 2 minutes).
You could also place these in the oven on broil for 1 minute to make the tortilla crispy.
Or you could bake them in the oven at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes to get a crispy outside.
My kids prefer eating these without any sort of grilling – they like the tortilla soft. Just roll it up and enjoy! Any way will work and be delicious!
Substitutions and additions for your wrap:
- Swap the ground beef for ground turkey for a lighter option
- To make this low carb, use lettuce instead of a tortilla (but don’t grill it)
- Add sauteed mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese to make it a Mushroom and Swiss Burger wrap
- Add fry sauce to your wrap
- Add fresh pineapple and a squirt of teriyaki sauce
- Add bacon to take it over the top!

- Baked Seasoned Steak Fries

Cheeseburger Wraps Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 Tablespoon ketchup
- 1 Tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 6 flour tortillas
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tomatoes, (diced)
- 1 cup lettuce, (shredded - for topping)
- ½ cup dill pickles, (sliced - for topping)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown hamburger until no longer pink.
- Add ketchup, mustard, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 2 minutes, until all combined.
- Take a tortilla and line the middle with a small amount of cheddar cheese.
- Add some cooked hamburger beef and then top with your favorite hamburger toppings. (We listed some of our favorites)
- Roll the tortilla up and tuck in the ends (like a burrito).
- You can either eat as is or throw on a grill (or even an indoor grill- like a George Foreman grill) for 2-4 minutes (just until you see grill marks).

This recipe looks yummy but please do NOT learn how to grill. Trust me on this one. Husbands NEED something that only they can do that involves cooking. I’m serious. Totally serious.

I made these for dinner and they were soooo yummy and filling 🙂 The only thing I didn’t have on hand was pickle slices and next time I’ll make sure I do as those would’ve been the “frosting on the cake” …I used French’s yellow mustard and Velveeta shredded cheese and got a real authentic “fast food” burger flavor 🙂

That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard/read all day … maybe all month. There is NO reason that a woman can’t or should not know the basics of how to work things like a grill (or a lawnmower, power tools, etc.) My husband does not “need something that only [he] can do” related to cooking. What absolute hogwash!
To Camille, there is nothing to be afraid of; if you have managed to keep your arm hair cooking on a stove, with a broiler, etc., you will very likely keep it when you are grilling. 🙂 Hope you can find the confidence to give it a go on your own; I can’t imagine limiting myself to grilling only when my husband is home!

I am rather short and lifting the lid on the grill has always been a challenge, so when I saw the description, I knew this was right up my alley. These were quick and fun. My husband and daughter both loved them.
I made these tonight and they were a hit! I did not feel like getting the grill going so I actually used my quesdilla maker and they turned out fantastic. They were quick and easy to make and I had all the ingredients on hand.
If you season the hamburg with a grill seasoning (McCormick;s, Weber’s) It will have that outdoor flavor.
If I use 2lbs of ground beef should I double everything else in the recipe as well?
2 pounds is a lot of ground beef if you didn’t double the other ingredients as well. I would double all the ingredients if you double the hamburger. 🙂 Hope this helps!

Lin…I TOTALLY get what you are saying! I COOK(no processed crap) breakfast EVERY morning for my daughter and I pack her lunch. I also cook dinner at least 6 nights of the week. Cooking is my thing so it doesn’t bother me to cook so much at all. I work full time so after I get off work, go to the gym, rush home and have dinner within a reasonable time so I can help my daughter with her school work and spend a little time with her……I LOVE IT when my husband cooks on the grill and the only thing I have to do is prepare sides. If I learned how to grill I guarantee my husband would probably say my food taste better and no more relaxing while he cooks. So I’ll say learn how to grill but keep letting your husband do it!

I am completely comfortable on a grill but with the weather turning chilly it’s always nice to have an indoor alternative. Made them tonight using my panini pan and they were wonderful!!
Could you make these ahead of time and freeze? I was thinking of making a batch or two, freezing, and using it as a quick lunch item. Do you suggest this?
I think it would work great. If they were frozen after being fully cooked you could thaw and reheat.

If you have a foreman grill, why didn’t you just grill burgers on that instead of crumbling and frying the meat then using the foreman anyway?
We used 1 pound of ground beef, not hamburger patties. You brown the cheeseburger wraps in the tortilla. These are a family favorite! Have a great week! 🙂

Seriously, I so agree with you. I think other posters missed what you were trying to say. When I got together with my hubby he burned everything (dogs/burgers) on the grill. Between my Dad and I, we taught him how to grill anything/everything. He was so proud of himself there is no way I’d take that away from him. In the meantime, I love this recipe, thanks for posting. I have a recipe where you spray cooking spray over the top of your tortilla on a baking sheet and they get nice and crispy.

You can absolutely make these in the air fryer! We’d guess about 400 degrees for 4-6 minutes for a crispy outside crunch. If you try it, let us know!
