If you have never made a skillet pizza pasta, you are in for a treat. This new recipe would be a great way to get the delicious pizza flavors all in a large skillet of pizza pasta bake, just like you would for any of your other favorite pizza recipes.
You will only need pizza sauce, and all of the toppings you would have used for pizza night, and you will have a new regular dinner rotation addition that is perfect for busy weeknights when you can spend time at the dinner table.
Ingredient Notes:
- Ground Italian sausage
- Onion (diced)
- Green bell pepper (diced)
- Minced garlic
- Sliced fresh mushrooms
- Uncooked elbow macaroni
- Marinara sauce (or spaghetti sauce)
- Water
- Sliced black olives (drained)
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Slices pepperoni
- Grated Parmesan cheese
How to make Pizza Skillet Pasta:
- Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- In an oven proof skillet brown sausage, onion, green pepper, garlic, and sliced mushrooms over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes or until meat is cooked through; drain excess fat.
- Add in macaroni, marinara sauce, water, and olives and cook for about 15 minutes or until macaroni is soft.
- Top with shredded cheese and pepperoni, and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes till cheese melted and bubbly.
Storing and Other Tips:
If you happen to have any of this pizza pasta recipe leftover, store it in an airtight container and place it in the fridge until next time. It will last for 4-5 days in the fridge.
