With busy schedules this time of year (soccer, gymnastics, baseball, piano recitals, and graduation), there isn’t much time to spend on dinner so I love one-pot pasta dishes that are ready in less than 30 minutes!
We have teamed up with Ragú to bring you one of our favorite dishes – Creamy Spaghetti and Sausage – that only takes 30 minutes from start to finish. The best part is that you throw it all in one pan (including uncooked pasta) and let it all cook together! It literally makes cooking and clean up a breeze.
Gather your easy ingredients, throw it all together in one big pot, and dinner is done! Your family will pretty much think you are amazing. 🙂

One Pot Creamy Spaghetti and Sausage Recipe
Ingredients
- 24 ounces pasta sauce divided
- 7.5 ounces chicken broth
- 8 ounces spaghetti noodles
- 8 ounces Italian turkey sausage pre-cooked, and sliced
- ½ cup cherry tomatoes halved
- ½ sweet onion chopped
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ teaspoon Italian Seasoning
- ½ cup water
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Pour 1/2 jar of pasta sauce and chicken broth into the bottom of a large (12 inch) braising pan or Dutch oven pan.
- Break spaghetti noodles in half and toss with sauce and broth.
- Add sliced sausage, tomatoes, onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Pour other jar of spaghetti sauce and 1 cup of water into the pan and turn heat on high. Once it starts to boil, turn heat down to medium heat and let cook for 9-10 minutes (or until the noodles are al dente), stirring every couple of minutes so that the noodles don't stick together and it is evenly cooked.
- Turn heat down to low and stir in sour cream and mozzarella cheese.
- Let it cook over the low heat for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted.
- Scoop into individual servings.

Can this be made in a crock pot?

I would be afraid the noodles would stick together in the crock pot. This recipe says to stir every couple of minutes

I can't rate this recipe because I haven't yet made it, but it sounds easy and very tasty, and it even looks yummy in the pan before it's cooked! I usually like to cook my pasta (or rice) al dente before adding it into a one- pot meal....in order to cut down a bit on some of the starch. Should I completely eliminate the water, and should I cut the amount of the chicken broth in half when preparing this dish with pre-cooked pasta? Also, I see a small bunch of greens in the pan which aren't listed in the ingredients. Is that fresh parsley? What a lovely recipe, and I'm 'so' looking forward to serving it to my ever-hungry hubby and son, and whomever might show up. BTW, I think I'll try using whole wheat pasta in this dish, which we all love.

Hi, looks delish! Quick question, in the photo, I am seeing some lovely green stuff, am I to assume this is fresh parsley? How much, is it chopped? Thanks!

Looks good except for the Ragu. I think I'd substitute for canned tomato sauce (no sugar and no salt added). Ragu has way too much sugar added.

Absolutely delicious!!! I used way more garlic than called for and had to leave the heat on higher than suggested, but man the flavor!! Everyone loved this, from the 4-year-old to the grown ups. This will definitely be a staple for us! Thank you SO much for this delicious recipe!

I made this once before and it was great. This time as I'm reading the ingredients I noticed a slight change. Last time it called for half and half this time it lists sour cream ???

I am making this recipe right now. I added lean ground round, Italian bratwurst, and tripled the recipe, which caused me to have to use my XL IP instead of following the recipe. The noodles did stick together 😬but I am stirring and cutting w/ a spoon to correct that! The aroma of this recipe is delicious while cooking! We can’t wait to try it this evening.
