BBQ Philly Cheesesteak Pizza Recipe

This BBQ Philly Cheesesteak Pizza is simple, delicious, and full of flavor. It is also inexpensive, and requires little time. You are going to love the flavor and how quickly it comes together.

We have a delicious sandwich shop near us that has the best Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches.  We added a soft pizza crust and some bbq sauce and came up with a wonderful new pizza for dinner.

The kids downed it in no time at all.

I am usually not a huge steak lover (I know, it’s weird) but this pizza was actually extremely delicious. All the flavors came together perfectly and it was a hit.

I will definitely be making this again.

It’s also a great recipe that is full of protein. You can even add a few more veggies to the pizza to make it even a little more healthy.

I promise, this pizza will not disappoint, and that is coming from a pizza critic.

  • 1/2 pound steak
  • 1 red onion (use half of the onion)
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons canola oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 (11 inch) pre-made pizza crust
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded Italian blend cheese (divided)
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)


  1. Thinly slice the steak, red onion, and red pepper, and cook in the canola oil over medium high heat.
  2. Add salt, pepper, and garlic salt while cooking. Cook until the steak is cooked through and the onions and peppers are soft. Then drain any liquid from the pan.
  3. Place the pizza crust on a baking sheet.
  4. Spread the bbq sauce over the crust. Add 1/2 cup of the Italian cheese and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese on the bbq sauce.
  5. Then carefully place the cooked meat, onion, and pepper mixture on the cheese, and top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Cook the pizza in the oven at 425 degrees for about 8 minutes. You'll want the cheese to be melted and the pizza heated through.
