To make our tartar sauce, you need the following ingredients:
- Mayonnaise: Mayonnaise is a little sweeter than mayo and is preferred for the creamy base of the sauce.
- Greek yogurt: Plain yogurt is the best choice when making creamy sauces.
- Pickle juice: Use the juice from the dill pickles you’ll use to make minced pickles.
- Worcestershire sauce: Just a little bit of this tasty sauce no one can pronounce adds another level of flavor for this homemade sauce.
- Lemon juice: Preferably use fresh lemon juice, but lemon juice concentrate can work as well.
- Herbs: Using chopped fresh dill add even more great flavor.
- Pickles: Grab your favorite brand of dill pickles from the grocery store and make minced dill pickles.
- Salt: Kosher salt or sea salt will work.
- Pepper: Ground black pepper works best.

How to Make Our Tartar Sauce
- Whisk. Whisk together the mayo, Greek yogurt, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and dill. Stir in the minced pickle.
- Season. Taste the tartar sauce and season with salt and pepper as needed.
- Chill. Cover the bowl of tartar sauce with plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
