Sweet Potato Apple Bake

This Sweet Potato Apple Bake is my favorite way to eat sweet potatoes. It's also a super simple and inexpensive side dish to throw together for dinner. You will love it.

As a family we are trying to eat more Veggies, and I’ll be honest, sometimes I get really sick of the same old stuff. So I experimented a bit and ended up with this delicious recipe. If you love sweet potatoes you will LOVE this.
I don’t know if this is much of a veggie side dish, but it sure does taste good, and the apples that pair with it are absolutely delicious.
I am all about quick and healthy and this side dish is both of those. It’s also very sweet, and I could eat it for dessert, that’s how tasty it is.

what is the difference between yams and sweet potatoes?

I hope that everyone over the years that has corrected me about yams and sweet potatoes, because this is a question that has puzzled me for years.

In America, yams and sweet potatoes are actually the same. Yes. You read that correctly. They both fall under the name sweet potato.

The orange colored sweet potatoes (which were give the name yams, to easily distinguish them from the pale yellow or white sweet potatoes, were imported many years ago, and brought to America.

They are in fact still sweet potatoes. We call them yams, because like real yams, they are much darker in color, but nonetheless they are sweet potatoes.

Sweet potatoes also come in various shades of purples, pinks, whites, and creams.

So there you have it. And to all the people that have corrected me, I will be eating sweet potatoes for the rest of my life. Also sweet potatoes is a much more likable word than yams? Just me?
