Sounds delicious! I hate that fried foods smell, too! Especially in the clothes you are wearing.
Could you use Panko bread crumbs instead of flour? Do you think it would work as well? Thanks!
I made this tonight, exactly how to recipe says. Kind of a disaster actually. When I flipped them half way through, they were soggy and all the breading came off the chicken. When they were done, the breading was still falling off. I had naked chicken. The second time (I had more chicken to cook since is didn’t fit in the pan) I did not add any butter to the pan, and it came out a little bit better, but for some reason the breading still fell off. I LOOOVED the flavor of the breading, so I’ll use that again, I just need to figure out why it all fell off. Maybe I should stick to the egg mixture instead of the buttermilk?? I don’t know what I did wrong, but thank you for a good breading recipe!
Could you use Eggs Instead of buttermilk???
We have never tried this recipe with eggs. Let us know if you give it a try.
Ashley, the same exact thing happened to me tonight. All the breading came off. No crispy chicken for us tonight. Maybe left too much buttermilk on before dredging with flour?
I use a wire rack when baking. Keeps chicken from getting soggy. Try that next time.
