You may have noticed our love for all things chocolate and peanut butter by now. Some of our favorites desserts are our Chubby Hubby Buckeye Truffles and our Peanut Butter Brownie Buckeye Cupcakes.
These yummy bars have the taste of our favorite buckeye treats but only take a few minutes to make.
They are also no bake. I love making these in the summer when you just need a way to satisfy your sweet tooth, without heating up the entire house.
These No Bake Buckeye Bars are perfect for that. They are so simple and taste absolutely amazing. We make them all year round, but they are especially delicious in the summer.
what are buckeyes?
So these are called buckeye bars, but you may be thinking, “what are buckeyes?”
Buckeyes are a type of candy or dessert. They are peanut butter cream balls, dipped in a milk chocolate.
They are usually round and truffle like. We have a delicious Buckeye recipe on our website. They are also no bake and delicious. We also have a Peanut Butter Buckeye Brownie Cupcake, and your tastebuds will lose their mind over it.
However, these bars add the perfect amount of crunch, and the pretzels add the perfect amount of savory. They also take a little less time and patience, so they are a great alternative to making buckeye truffles.

what could i use instead of pretzels?
These are absolutely amazing with pretzels. They are so easy to make and full of sweet and salty flavor. However, if you don’t like pretzels, you could also use:
- graham crackers
- salted peanuts
- almonds
- cashews
- pecans
- walnuts
- vanilla wafers
- Biscoff cookies
- vanilla Oreos

YUMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome post! This recipe is brilliant. I mean it. I’m busy “as all get out” this holiday season (although – in the world that I live in as an off-premise caterer/event planner, it’s not a big surprise and more like… What else is new?), I’m sure you guys are busy too, and I know most everyone else is too — so, this recipe… being “no bake” and all, is perfect!
Merry Christmas, ladies! I’m wishing each one of you a safe and fun end of 2012 AND an exciting and prosperous 2013!
Made this tonight. So easy! Can’t wait to try it tomorrow at my girls night out! Merry Christmas!
Looks so easy. Are the pretzels measured before or after crushing? Would be hard to measure 3 cups of pretzel sticks.
Thank you!! Why didn’t I think of this?! Bars! I have so much baking to do this weekend and I really wanted to make Buckeyes but didn’t want to take the time to shape, freeze, melt chocolate, dip and freeze again. This version will save me so much time. You rock.
Being a Penn State Student and the fact that I bleed Blue & White, I always have problems with eating/making Buckeyes. BUT, on the other hand, I love them because they are so freaking good! These look delicious, I will definitely have to try. Thanks for sharing!
Sincerely,
Happy Valley Chow

These look amazing! I LOVE the combination of chocolate, peanut butter, and pretzels! 🙂
Thank you for linking up with Marvelous Mondays!
I’d REALLY like to know the answer to this question, too. Anyone know?
Could you please let us know if this is 3 cups of pretzel sticks OR 3 cups of pretzel crumbs? Seems like that would make a difference in how moist or dry the bars are and how well they hold together. Thank you!
The recipe calls for crushed pretzels.
