Cake Mix Peanut Butter Bars

I love when I find good cake mix recipes because I know I will usually have all of the ingredients on hand! These Peanut Butter Cake Mix Bars were perfect for someone like me who can’t quite seem to get enough peanut butter into my diet, but don’t like to spend a ton of time in the kitchen! So easy, and so delicious, you’ll be making them for every occasion!

Louisiana Style Chicken Sausage and Shrimp Skillet Recipe

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite sized pieces)
  • 2 ounces smoked turkey sausages (sliced)
  • 3 stalks celery (diced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (diced)
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 1 cup whole grain parboiled brown rice (uncooked)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3 ounces uncooked shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)


  1. Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sausage and cook until browned, stirring often. Remove the chicken and sausage from the skillet. Pour off any fat.
  2. Add the celery, pepper, onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 7 minutes or until the vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the rice, thyme and cayenne pepper to the skillet and cook and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the soup and water and heat to a boil.
  5. Return the chicken and sausage to the skillet. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
  6. Stir in the shrimp. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the chicken and shrimp are cooked through and the rice is tender.
  7. Sprinkle with the parsley.

    • No problems on our end. Here is the recipe - INGREDIENTS 1 cup of Peanut Butter 1/2 cup water 1 large egg 15.25 ounces Yellow Cake Mix For the frosting: 1 stick margarine (1/2 c.), softened 1/4 cup milk 1-2 tsp vanilla (depending on your taste) 3 tablespoons of cocoa 2-3 cups of powdered sugar INSTRUCTIONS Heat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 13 X 9-inch pan with no-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl combine 1 cup of peanut butter, water and egg in large bowl, stirring until smooth. Stir in cake mix until blended well. Spread into prepared pan. BAKE 20 to 25 minutes or until puffed and light golden brown. Cool completely. Mix all ingredients with a hand mixer until smooth. Add more powdered sugar or milk until you reach desired consistency and spread on top of bars.
