Nutella Stuffed Custard French Toast

I love Nutella.  I can pretty much eat it plain because I think it is so delicious!  The custard mixture you dip this french toast in makes it absolutely amazing!  We serve this with maple syrup, but it is so good you don’t even need it!

Nutella Stuffed Custard French Toast

French toast filled with Nutella and dipped in an incredible custard mixture for the ultimate breakfast!

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 slices Texas Toast or thick white bread
  • 8 Tablespoons Nutella
  • Powdered sugar, for topping
  • Maple syrup, optional


  1. Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
  2. In a bowl whisk together the eggs, cream, and powdered sugar.
  3. Take 2 slices of the Texas Toast and spread 1Tablespoon of Nutella on each one.
  4. Sandwich together and dip both sides in the custard mixture.
  5. Cook each side until brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup, if desired.

  5. This morning I made this. Had a ripe banana on the counter, and thought chopped pecans would be yummy too, OH YEA was I right! I bought French bread and cut one inch thickness and slit the middle and stuffed them. I happened to have the heavy cream and it does make it more "custardy" but I don't think it is nessasary. Will need to cook a little longer with the thickness. Make sure the Nutella is spread thin on the bread or it can be too rich. The sprinkle of powdered sugar makes a pretty presentation. My husband liked it and said it didn't need any syrup.
