This Beef and Noodles recipe is the best combination of tender egg noodles in a homemade savory sauce paired with tasty slices of beef for a delicious dinner for busy weeknights.
What You’ll Love About This Recipe:
While we love a good casserole beef and noodles, or even made in a slow cooker, this stovetop version is ready in a flash, so you can easily throw it together after a long day of work or in between activities in the evening.
Whether you want to use homemade egg noodles or store-bought dried egg noodles (or honestly, any kind of noodles you have on hand will work), add this delicious comfort food recipe to your menu for the week and enjoy it all fall long.
Key Ingredients:
Beef: One of the best parts of this recipe is that you can use any cut of beef. We like to keep it budget-friendly with a cheaper beef, like a chuck roast or stew meat. When you add the homemade sauce with to this classic homestyle recipe, you won’t need or notice the flavor (or texture!) of a more expensive cut of beef.
Thickener: Cornstarch is going to be the main ingredient that will give you the thicker consistency for the savory beef broth sauce.

How To Make Beef and Noodles
In just a couple of steps and less than half an hour, you can have a delicious beef and noodles main dish ready for dinner.
Before you start, make sure you gather all your ingredients together so you can throw this together in a short amount of time.
First, you’re going to whisk together your sauce and cook the noodles. While the noodles are cooking, you can prepare your beef. Once the noodles are cooked and the beef is finished, you’re going to throw all three together (sauce, beef, and noodles) and serve while hot. See? Easy peasy. You got this.

Recipe Variations:
- Add some spinach to the beef at the end, letting it wilt down for some added nutrients.
- Broccoli or green beans can also be added when you pour in the homemade beef sauce.
- Add Worcestershire sauce to the sauce for an added flavor profile.
- Add some sour cream to the sauce at the end for a creamy version of this dish.
Expert Tips:
- If the sauce is not thick enough, add a little more cornstarch mixed with cold water with a 1:1 ratio.
- To make this into a crock pot beef recipe, saute up the beef first, then pour the sauce over and let it cook on low for 4 hours. Preparing the noodles towards the end of the cooking, and add them to the beef in the slow cooker, then serve.
- You can make this in the Instant Pot like our Instant Pot beef stroganoff recipe; the cooking time will be similar, however, reserve the noodles to cook separately.

This was fantastic. It came together so fast. A definite keeper
This was just way too salty! I followed the recipe (maybe there is a typo) to a tee. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because it came together so easy. But I added an additional 1/2 cup of water when I was heating the sauce and it was still off the charts salty. I think next time I will use water instead of chicken broth and more of it.
I loved this Recipe
Great recipe! Very flavorful as written. The second time I made it I added a little oyster sauce and it was even better but that is not in everyone’s pantry! Would definitely recommend and have already shared with friends!
So so good! I added an extra tbsp of honey to sweeten it a bit more. My family loved it! Will make again.
I agree this is a fantastic recipe! It does come together quickly and easily! I was surprised by the way the sauce actually glazed everything so the flavor was evenly distributed. Will be making often, by family request.
