One of our favorite snacks to make for the holidays is our Slow Cooker Savory Chex Mix recipe. It is a great cereal mixture that you make with corn or rice Chex, some mini pretzels, cheese crackers, and of course unsalted butter!
This snack mix is the perfect slow cooker Chex mix recipe since you can make it in big batches and is a fun gift to give for the holiday season, game day, or to bring to holiday parties.
Even if this is your first time making this classic recipe for homemade chex mix, since it is such an easy recipe there is little that can go wrong when you are making this healthy homemade snack.
Ingredients used to make this Slow Cooker Savory Chex Mix:
- Corn Chex
- Cheez-its
- Pretzel twists
- Mixed roasted nuts
- Melted butter
- Worcestershire sauce
- Garlic powder

How to make this Slow Cooker Savory Chex Mix:
- Load the crock pot. Gently mix together the Chex, Cheez-its, pretzel twists, and nuts. Add the mixture to the crockpot.
- Season. Whisk together the butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Gently fold the butter mixture into the Chex mixture.
- Cook. Place a clean, dry dish towel over the crock pot followed by the lid. Cook on low for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Be sure to stir every 30 minutes or so to prevent burning.
- Dry. Spread the Chex mix over a sheet pan and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. It will crisp up during that time.



Ways to change up the flavor of this perfect snack:
If you are looking to provide a variety of different flavors for this great recipe, and great way to do that is by changing some of the spices in the dry ingredients.
You can choose a different flavor or cheese-its such as the parmesan, cheddar jack, or white cheddar flavors.
Pick different seasonings to add in like:
- A teaspoon garlic powder
- Ranch seasonings package
- Cajun seasoning (if you want it a little spicy)
- Seasoned salt (for a bold chex mix)
- Soy sauce instead of Worcestershire sauce

How to store this original Chex mix recipe:
After placing the cereal pieces on a sheet pan to let the crock pot Chex mix to dry out, place the chex mix in an airtight container and store it for up to a week.
