CHICKEN CORDON BLEU NUGGETS RECIPE
This recipe combines our two favorites into one delicious bite of heavenly goodness. Our kids devoured these nuggets in no time at all!
Serving people
Ingredients
- 5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, (uncooked)
- 8 ounces Swiss cheese
- 7½ ounces sliced ham, (I used Oscar Mayer Carving Board sliced ham)
- 6 ounces Chicken Stuffing Mix, (crushed into crumbs)
- ½ cup flour
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon water
Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce:
- 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ¼ cup honey
- ½ Tablespoon lemon juice
- ⅛ teaspoon onion powder
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut chicken breasts into 1 1 /2 inch squares. If the chicken is thick, cut it in half so it's thinner. Slice the cheese and ham into 1 inch squares.
- Sandwich the cheese and ham between 2 slices of chicken. Poke a toothpick in the center of the sandwich. Place flour in a small bowl, beaten eggs with water in another small bowl, and the crumb mixture in it's own bowl. The toothpick holds it together when rolling in the flour, egg, and crumb mixtures.
- Dip the cordon bleu nugget in the flour mixture, then roll in the beaten egg mixture, then roll in the stuffing crumbs.
- Set on a greased cookie sheet. Slide the toothpick carefully out of the nugget after putting it on the cookie sheet. It will stay together. After you have dipped all of the nuggets, spray them with butter flavored cooking spray.
- Cook uncovered for 20 minutes.
Dipping sauce:
- Mix all the dipping sauce ingredients together until well blended. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

I love this version of homemade nuggets- so creative!
AWESOME
I am so doing this.
My son just said, “That looks delicious. Perfect amount of chicken, perfect amount of ham, perfect amount of cheese. Perfect.” Guess I’ll be making them for dinner tomorrow!
Can this be made ahead and refrigerated for a couple of hours until ready? I’m guessing not too long because of the egg.
So I answered my own question. I assembled these this morning and refrigerated them until this evening. I sprayed them right before baking and they turned out great! The family really loved these so we will definitely make these again. Thanks for sharing!
It will be fine refrigerated. We had leftovers that we reheated the next day. Also could make them and refrigerate until ready to cook.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but can I freeze these before or after cooking? I am trying to build up my freezer stash.
They should freeze fine after cooking. Then just reheat when ready to eat.
I love this recipe. I just made this again for the second time. We love them!
I just made these and despite whatever error i made they were still yummy! I’m a novice cooker so I’m just wondering if you can help me better understand battering. Mine turned out dry and nothing like the picture.
Thanks!
Corinne
My family just loves this and thinks that your “honey mustard” dipping sauce is even far better than Chik-fil-A! I have to make this in large quantities and keep it in the fridge… they love it! 🙂 thanks so much for sharing
These were so tasty! But mine looked different. Did you blend the stuffing mix! I just rolled them in the cubes. lol
We crushed the stuffing into crumbs. I will edit the recipe so it is easier to understand.
