I love going on hikes in the summer and fall. I also get hungry, depending on how long the hike is. I decided to make a fun summer snack, perfect for summer and fall hikes.
It’s finally cool enough that my chocolate doesn’t melt, so this is the perfect time to make this S’mores Trail Mix, and keep the summer flavor of S’mores alive.
It also makes a great drive in snack, game night munchie, movie treat, or just when you need a little s’more fix.
I also plan on making this for after school snacks, or when my kids bring over 7 of their friends after school, and they are ravenous.
It’s easy to throw together, and there is something in the mix that everyone loves.
what other things could i use for the graham crackers:
For this recipe, I used Birthday Cake Goldfish. They are the most addicting and sweet tasting crackers you will ever try.
They are found on the cracker aisle at the store, and I could honestly eat an entire bag in one sitting.
However, if you can’t find them (probably sold out, because I am always buying them), or don’t have them on hand, here are a few other recommendations to use in the trail mix:
- Golden Graham Cereal
- Chocolate Covered Graham Cookies (broken up)
- Keebler Fudge Striped Cookies (broken up)
- Mini Vanilla Wafer Crackers
- Graham Cracker Pieces
- Biscoff Cookies
- Golden Oreos (either mini Oreos, or broken up)
Really any sweet vanilla cracker or cookie would work great for this recipe. As long as you have a little taste of vanilla sweetness, this trail mix will be a hit.

other salty items:
I love pretzels in my trail mix, just to add a little bit of savory to the mix. However, this is totally optional. You could also add salted peanuts, almonds, or really any other favorite salty snack.
