
do i have to use mango salsa?
For this particular recipe, we used Mango salsa, to give it a sweeter taste, and a little more texture. However, you don’t have to use mango salsa. We do recommend it, but you definitely don’t have to.
You could use any favorite salsa. I have tried this with peach salsa, and it was delicious, but you could use a plain tomato based salsa, or even salsa verde.

Slow Cooker Mango Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
- 5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (mine were frozen)
- 1 can corn drained
- 1 can black beans drained and rinsed
- 3 cups mango salsa
- ½ teaspoon cumin or to taste
- ½ teaspoon lemon pepper or to taste
Instructions
- Put chicken breasts in slow cooker.
- Mix all other ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Pour over chicken breasts and cook on high for 4-6 hours.
- Shred chicken with two forks in the crock pot and serve over rice.
- Garnish with cilantro, if desired.
