Are you just throwing away the oreo cream??
Why on earth would you waste time removing the cream from an entire package of Oreos?
Yes Yes. I actually played a joke on my girls and told them it was ice cream. The oldest took a big bite. 🙂 But then yes… we threw it out.
I wondered why you are scrapping out the icing too….just throw those cookies in a food processor and make crumbs or smash in a ziplock bag. You never see the icing and sounds like a lot of extra work to me. I was thinking I would stir the peanut butter in with the cream cheese rather than the pudding.
You could also use chocolate wafer cookies made by Nabisco instead of scraping the inside out of of the Oreos. But I agree with Connie – just throw the Oreos into the food processor and grind them up. If you did that, you could probably cut down on the amount of butter used to hold the crumbs together. That said, this recipe looks yummy!
Why fat free cream cheese? I find fat free cream cheese is like eating paste! Is it just for texture? Certainly couldn’t be for flavor!!!!
Just trying to save a few calories! 🙂 You can use regular cream cheese.
I just get a pre-made chocolate cookie crust instead of scraping out Oreos and hassling with them. Works like a charm, no difference in taste. 😀
