I know that Christmas in Disneyland is magical, but Halloween just might be my favorite time to travel to the parks! The weather is perfect and the holiday crowds haven’t quite shown up yet!
We went to Disneyland and California Adventure last October and I’m trying to convince my husband we need to go again this year because it was just that magical!
Disneyland Halloween Time 2016 will take place at the Disneyland Resort from September 9 – October 31, 2016. Mickey’s Halloween Party will be held on select nights throughout the festivities, but you’ll need to buy separate tickets for that. We didn’t realize that you needed to buy separate tickets for Mickey’s Halloween Party so by the time we went to buy them they were all sold out! I’ve heard it is totally worth the money to go! You can reserve your tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party HERE. Mickey’s Halloween party will be held on 17 nights throughout September and October. If you purchase a ticket to the party, you will have access to many of the Disneyland attractions (they shut down Disneyland and people without a ticket to the Halloween Party have to leave…. California Adventure gets pretty crowded on the nights of the party!), trick-or-treating, exclusive “Halloween Screams” fireworks and appearances from some of your favorite Disney characters and villains. You’ll even see the headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow riding through Disneyland! If you do attend the party, be sure to dress up in your costumes!
Even though we didn’t have tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party, our Disney trip during Halloween was still so magical! Even the entrance was transformed for the Halloween festivities!
We ate dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen one night and it was seriously the highlight of our trip! Our kids got to meet all of Mickey’s friends (which meant we didn’t have to wait in the long lines to meet them in the park) and the atmosphere was so fun! You do have to make reservations, but we did that when we were booking our trip through Getaway Today and got a great deal!
The food was served buffet style (which is good because I had about 5 plates full) and was amazing! The restaurant was decorated all spooky and was so festive! My kids still talk about it! The characters literally come to your table while you are eating to sign autograph books, take pictures, etc. Definitely some money well spent!
We loved seeing the Halloween decorations at each ride, but our favorite was The Haunted Mansion. They completely transform the ENTIRE ride to be the Nightmare Before Christmas and it was so darling!
As you can see, all the Halloween fun wore my 3-year-old right out. 😉 If you are looking to go to Disneyland this year, we know you will absolutely LOVE all the of the fun Halloween festivities, decorations and treats at the park this time of year!
