FLAVRZ Healthy and Organic Drink Mix Review

I am so excited to introduce you to a company called Flavrz. I had never heard of them and I was so happy that they contacted us to let us know about their product. They specialize in making healthy and organic liquid drink mixes that you stir into water. The mixes are made from pure, organic fruits and botanicals and have no additives or preservatives in them whatsoever. And the best part about them is that they taste DELICIOUS! My family and I had so much fun testing all the different flavors. These drinks are an amazing alternative to sodas and fruit drinks that are loaded with sugar and a whole bunch of ingredients that I can’t even pronounce!
Flavrz was created by a mom, Karen Barth, who was looking for healthy drink and healthy soda options for her children. Everywhere she turned, she found high-fructose corn syrup, refined sugars, artificial flavors and preservatives, and tons of wasteful packaging material. Until something clicked…Tap water. Real organic fruit. Botanical extracts. Agave nectar. Karen began experimenting at home, not knowing that her creations would evolve into Flavrz. It’s been a delicious, healthy drink journey for Karen and everyone else at Flavrz.

Let’s be honest- I totally have a sweet tooth. And every now and again, I love a sweet drink, but I know how bad they are for me. Thankfully, with Flavrz, I can have my delicious drink and not worry about what it is doing to me . . . it’s the best of both worlds! My kids unfortunately have my “sweet-tooth genetics” and love anything with sugar . . . and this is something that I would serve to them and thankfully not have to worry about what is going into their little bodies! It is a yummy and healthy alternative to all the sugary drinks that kids love. Plus, my kids loved choosing what flavor to mix into their water and watch the water change as they mixed it in.
Besides creating healthy and delicious drink mixes, Flavrz is also dedicated to being an eco-friendly company. Their concentrated formula means less packaging; less fuel used in manufacturing, transportation and recycling; and less plastic waste.
Plus Flavrz supports organic farming and the elimination of pesticides by using only organic ingredients. Their go-green products are healthy for more than just you.
Feel free to check out Flavrz: visit their website to find out more information and to try Flavrz for yourself!

Cinnamon Bear Popcorn

My husband is addicted to Cinnamon Bears and so when I saw this recipe over at Grey Luster Girl, I knew I had to make it for him. The sweet and salty combo is AMAZING! It was a big hit at our house and was a perfect snack for our Family Movie Night.

Cinnamon Bear Popcorn
3 Bags Popped Popcorn
4 Cups Mini Marshmallows
1 Bag of Cinnamon Bears (cut in pieces)
2 Sticks Butter (1 cup)
1 1/3 Cup Sugar
½ Cup Karo Syrup
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 Drops red food coloring

Line 3 cookie sheets with parchment paper.  Pop the popcorn and divide it over the cookie sheets.  Add about 1 1/3 cup of mini marshmallows onto each sheet.  Cut up the cinnamon bears and divide them among the popcorn. In a saucepan combine butter, Karo syrup, and sugar.   Heat to a boil on medium heat, stirring continuously.  Turn heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.  Add vanilla and food coloring.  Pour the HOT sugar mixture over the popcorn.  Carefully stir.  The heat will melt the marshmallows and make everything gooey and delicious.

Enjoy!

All-in-One Organizing Tote Giveaway from Thirty-One- and the perfect job for moms!

So once upon a time, a local radio station was having a contest . . . when a certain song came on the radio each day, you had to be the 10th caller and you would win $1,000. Well, our mom loves a good contest. Each morning she would wake up and listen for what the song of the day would be and then she would have the radio on wherever she went . . . when that song started playing, each daughter had to be on a different phone line re-dialing the radio station until you no longer heard a busy signal. It was nuts! We were like a family possessed. :)
We did this day after day after day. We were so tired of it and didn’t want to do it anymore (or listen to soft-rock any longer) . . . so my mom said that if we won the money, she would take us to Disneyland. We gave it our all . . . and guess what? We got through a couple of days later as the 10th caller! My mom kept her promise and took us to Disneyland (seriously, what a good mom. Looking back, I totally would have treated myself to a shopping spree! Or new furniture!).
Since then, my outlook has changed on contests and drawings . . . I figure that there has to be a winner- it might as well be me!
What is the moral of this story?

COOLEST. COMPANY. EVER.
My darling friend Rachel was actually the one who told me about this company . . . her husband went to Physical Therapy school with my husband and we are now both up to our eyeballs in debt from student loans. However, we both have kids and we just couldn’t make it work for either of us to work outside of the home. Then Rachel told me about this company, “Thirty-One”.  As a consultant of Thirty-One, Rachel is able to work from home, on her own time, and make enough money to help pay the mortgage, pay off student loans, and just give them a little bit of financial “wiggle room”! Every person’s dream, especially during these crazy economic times.
{Here is my cute friend Rachel with her darling little girl}
Anyway, this company is incredible. They carry darling purses, totes, and have a plethora of storage solutions to help organize your life. Plus, all their items make great gifts! Their products are constantly changing with the seasons, so there is always something new.
Another great part about this company is that everything is totally affordable!
Check out the prices and products HERE!
Thirty-One’s Mission Statement:
Our mission is a reflection of this philosophy: to celebrate, encourage and reward women by offering quality products and an outstanding opportunity to become successful business owners. We have seen this mission play out through the years in the individual lives of so many women who now have their own “Thirty-One story.” Many work full-time jobs and use their Thirty-One income to help pay for those extras in life like vacations. Some of our Consultants had a dream to be debt-free and have paid off houses and cars. Others have seen Thirty-One become a lifeline to their families in difficult economic times. Despite all the bad news we hear today, our Consultants are selling at record rates.
So if you are needing the perfect gift or some supplies to help organize or accessorize your life, check out the products on Rachel’s Thirty-One Website.

Chicken Enchilada Pasta

We eat a lot of Mexican food around here, so I thought this would make a delicious alternative from our usual enchiladas or tacos.  We LOVED this!  The sauce is so flavorful!  It also makes some fabulous leftovers!

Chicken Enchilada Pasta
Ingredients:
2-3 chicken breasts, cooked & shredded {or shredded rotisserie chicken…I used the breasts}
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, diced
1 red pepper, diced
1 {4 oz.} can diced green chiles
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cumin
2 {10 oz.} cans green chili enchilada sauce
2/3 cups red enchilada sauce
2 cups shredded cheese {I used colby & monterrey jack}
1 cup sour cream
4 cups Penne pasta
Optional toppings:
Avocado
Green Onions
Black Olives
Tomatoes
Sour Cream
Directions:
Cook chicken, drain, and shred {or shred your rotisserie}.  Meanwhile boil pasta according to package and chop the veggies.  The most time consuming part of this recipe is the time spent chopping the veggies.
Heat the olive oil in a deep skillet and cook onions for about 3-5 minutes.  Add garlic & red pepper and cook for another 3-5 minutes.
Add cooked chicken, green chiles, cumin, chili powder, salt, & enchilada sauces.  Let sauce simmer for about 8-10 minutes.
Add cheese and stir until the cheese is melted and heated through.  Now toss in the sour cream, but whatever you do, DO NOT bring to a boil!  Cook on low heat or the sour cream will curdle. Stir until sour cream is well mixed and heated through.
Drain pasta & return to pot.  Pour sauce over pasta and mix well.  Serve and garnish with avocado, tomato, green onion, and a dollop of sour cream.

My little guy couldn’t get enough of it!
