- ½ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 14 ounces refrigerated pie crust (1 package)
- 3 Tablespoons melted butter divided
- 2 granny smith apples each apple cut into 8 wedges
Glaze
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup butter melted
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, set aside one tablespoon to sprinkle on top of pies when finished.
On a lightly floured surface, unroll the pie crust. Brush with two tablespoons melted butter and sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture.
Cut each sheet into 8 one inch strips (I used a pizza cutter to make cutting the strips really easy).
Wrap one strip around each apple slice, placing sugared side of pastry against apple.
Place on a baking sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar mixture.
Bake for 13-15 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
Whisk together glaze ingredients and drizzle over pies before serving.
- To cut the pie crust into strips, use a pizza cutter.
- You can also use pears for this recipe for a delicious twist!
