Equipment

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 14 ounces refrigerated pie crust (1 package)
  • 3 Tablespoons melted butter divided
  • 2 granny smith apples each apple cut into 8 wedges

Glaze

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, set aside one tablespoon to sprinkle on top of pies when finished.
  • On a lightly floured surface, unroll the pie crust. Brush with two tablespoons melted butter and sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture.
  • Cut each sheet into 8 one inch strips (I used a pizza cutter to make cutting the strips really easy).
  • Wrap one strip around each apple slice, placing sugared side of pastry against apple.
  • Place on a baking sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar mixture.
  • Bake for 13-15 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
  • Whisk together glaze ingredients and drizzle over pies before serving.

Notes

  • To cut the pie crust into strips, use a pizza cutter.
  • You can also use pears for this recipe for a delicious twist!
