Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe

A delicious spin on ol' banana bread: add chocolate! Chocolate definitely makes everything better, including bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 2 large eggs slightly beaten
  • 3 medium bananas mashed, just a little over a cup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 9"x5" loaf pan and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set bowl aside.
  • In a separate bowl, beat sugar and butter together until creamy. Add 2 eggs and mix well. Add in bananas, vanilla, and milk and stir until completely incorporated.
  • Add the wet banana mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and spoon batter into prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove bread from oven and let cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes. Remove from pan and enjoy.

Notes

  • We recommend storing this bread in an air tight storage container, and putting it in the fridge.
