In a blender, toss in the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, ground pepper and 1 Tablespoon diced red onion. Blend until the onion is pureed.
Pour the dressing into a bowl, cover, and chill for at least an hour.
In a large bowl, combine the spinach, strawberries, walnuts, bacon bits, red onion slices (left over from the red onion listed above) and feta cheese. Toss lightly.
Pour dressing over salad right before you are ready to eat it so that the spinach does not wilt.
Notes
You can customize this salad by adding a little crunch to it. Our favorite additions include the following: candied almonds, candied pecans, candied walnuts, wonton strips, celery, or granola bits.
Spinach pairs well with strawberries and this poppyseed dressing, but you can add any leaf mixture, such as kale, spring mix, butter lettuce, or romaine lettuce.
Remember to store the strawberry spinach salad and the poppy seed dressing in separate containers to prevent the spinach from wilting. An airtight container with a tight-fitting lid is preferable if you want your leafy greens to stay fresh longer.
