Citrus Marinated Chicken Recipe

This easy skillet chicken is a great weeknight meal. The citrus marinade is perfect for the summer months!

  • Large Ziplock Bag
  • Skillet


  • 2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ onion finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh cilantro chopped


  • In a large ziploc bag, shake to combine garlic, onion, oregano, cumin, chili, salt, pepper, olive oil, orange juice, and lime juice.
  • Add chicken thighs, reseal, and marinade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Remove from marinade and cook in a skillet over medium high heat for 15 minutes. Flip them over and continue to cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until chicken is cooked all the way through.
  • Top with cilantro and serve.


  • For juicy chicken breasts keep your temperature low, on the grill, and cook it longer, for the best results.
