Beef and Noodle Casserole Recipe

  • 9x13 Inch Baking Dish

  • 8 ounces wide egg noodles 1 package
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce 1 can
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup small curd cottage cheese
  • ½ cup green onions diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cook egg noodles following directions on packaging. Rinse noodles in cold water and drain.
  • While noodles are cooking, brown ground beef in a pan with garlic salt and salt and pepper.
  • Drain excess grease from beef.
  • Add in tomato sauce and let simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • In another bowl mix sour cream, cottage cheese, and green onions together. Add sour cream mixture to meat in skillet and mix well.
  • Place noodles and meat mixture in a 9x13-inch baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray and top with shredded cheese.
  • Cook for 20-25 minutes.


  • Rinse the noodles in cold water to stop the cooking process, then drain them.
  • If you are not a fan of cottage cheese, you can always replace it with ricotta cheese.
  • If sour cream is not going to work for you, try using plain Greek yogurt as a substitute.
