Homemade Slow Cooker Apple Cider Recipe

  • Slow Cooker
  • potato masher
  • metal strainer or mesh cloth strainer


  • 4 gala apples
  • 5 granny smith apples
  • 1 orange
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 cups water


  • Core and chop all apples and place in slow cooker.
  • Slice and peel orange and place on top of apples.
  • Add 3 cups of water to your slow cooker.
  • Cook fruit on high for 3 hours.
  • Remove slow cooker lid and mash fruit with potato masher until few chunks remain.
  • Add 3 cinnamon sticks to your slow cooker, return lid, and let it simmer for one more hour.
  • Using a metal strainer or mesh cloth strainer, strain fruit until only cider remains.
  • Place cider back in slow cooker and turn setting to "keep warm" until ready to serve.
  • Serve with your favorite cider spices (such as nutmeg or cinnamon) or an extra orange slice. Enjoy!
