- 5 granny smith apples
- 1 orange
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 3 cups water
Core and chop all apples and place in slow cooker.
Slice and peel orange and place on top of apples.
Add 3 cups of water to your slow cooker.
Cook fruit on high for 3 hours.
Remove slow cooker lid and mash fruit with potato masher until few chunks remain.
Add 3 cinnamon sticks to your slow cooker, return lid, and let it simmer for one more hour.
Using a metal strainer or mesh cloth strainer, strain fruit until only cider remains.
Place cider back in slow cooker and turn setting to "keep warm" until ready to serve.
Serve with your favorite cider spices (such as nutmeg or cinnamon) or an extra orange slice. Enjoy!
- You will need a strainer to make this recipe so that your cider is smooth and not chunky.
