Split your croissants in half and place on the baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix together cream cheese and Dijon mustard. Spread some of the cream cheese mixture on one half of each croissant.
Layer sliced ham and sliced cheese on top of cream cheese mixture.
Top with the other half of the croissant.
Bake for 12-15 minutes and serve immediately.
Notes
You do not have to bake these sandwiches if you do not want to. However, we prefer to bake them. The outside of the croissant will be more crispy and flaky, while the inside stays soft. The cheese melts for a gooey delicious bite.
If you do not have the ingredients on hand you can make a few substitutions:
Substitutions for Croissants: Hamburger buns, sliced bread, rolls, or even a tortilla.
Substitutions for Cheese and Meat: You can try different cheese and meats to find a combination you love. We've explored using Monterrey Jack, Provolone, sliced turkey meat, and cooked bacon.
If you have leftover ham or turkey from the holidays, these sandwiches taste delicious.
You can also make these sandwiches using mini croissants and serve them as an appetizer.
Assemble the sandwiches in the morning, and keep them in the refrigerator (covered) until you need to bake them.
